Share Your World, Week 16

Time for Share Your World, a challenge written and presented by Cee.  Cee’s purpose in hosting this challenge is to allow all of us bloggy people to get to know each other better.  Thank you, Cee — this is one of my favorite posts all week.  The questions are:

  1. If you had a choice which would be your preference salt water beaches, fresh water lakes, hot tub, or desert?  Without even a second of thinking about it, salt water beaches.  Preferably with a reef.  The water in freshwater lakes and hot tubs seem too static, not stirred up like saltwater beaches.  And not the desert — it isn’t too hot, because it’s dry, but to many creepy-crawlies, and almost no other animals.
  2. What book do you think everyone should read and why?  I’m sure there are piles of non-fiction books which could be the answer to this, but I’ve chosen a novel — Cannery Row, by John Steinbeck.  This story is full of archetypes, with the twists that mark Steinbeck’s works.  And it is fun to read, but still poignant and moving.
  3. What’s your favorite way to wake up and whats the first thing you do?  I like to wake five minutes before the alarm, very quietly.  The first thing I do is start the kettle for tea, and check my blood sugar, and take my meds.  I fix breakfast and a big mug of tea, and sit down to read emails, comments, and posts.
  4. What do you do [to] relax?  Read fiction or science fiction; or watch action, adventure, or science fiction movies; or  programs about physics — preferably particle physics and quantum theory.  I missed physics altogether in school, and I’m finding it fascinating.

    • Yes, quantum theory is pretty wondrous. I actually find it very relaxing, but my entire childhood, and most of my adult life as well, was focused on the appreciation of learning, and it is as natural as breathing now. Good to see you back here!

  1. I am thinking as I read your answers just how much in common we continue to have & how truly amazing your gift of friendship is.
I love how each of your answers express a part of who you are so definitely.

    Have an awesome Sunday friend!
    Ciao~

    • Everything you wrote is just the same for me. It’s a real joy, knowing that you will understand if I blog about some things no one else does — or that you will be unafraid to ask, if you don’t. I was telling my mom about you last night; she could tell how excited and happy our friendship makes me feel. You’re the best, milady! 😎

I love to read your thoughts...
