Another interesting take on the Law of Attraction, from Abraham Hicks:
Do you have to think specific positive thoughts about your body in order for your body to be the way you want it to be? No. But you have to not think the specific negative thoughts. If you could never again think about your body and, instead, just think pleasant thoughts — your body would reclaim its place of Well-being.

This paragraph raises a slightly different angle on the Law of Attraction. For those who have joined this group of readers recently, information about Abraham-Hicks may be found at the link above, and my post about the Law of Attraction is here. A very brief description:
That which is like unto itself is called.
The message here is very simple. If you want sadness, misery, or anger in your life, continue to concentrate on those feelings now, and you’ll get more of them in the future. And if you want joy, love, and peace in your life, live your life with joy, love, and peace. Abraham’s concept seems almost too easy to ever work; that is what I thought, anyway. But I have seen it work in my own life, every day, and this law helped me move from a life of depression and hopelessness to a life of belief and happiness.
So that is the Law of Attraction, in a nutshell. But Abraham is approaching it slightly differently here; he is saying that we don’t need to think, “a new car,” in order to find a new car. Rather, if we concentrate on making our lives as positive as possible, and if we call for joy and love from the Universe, we will become joyous and loving and loved, and from that, good things begin to happen in our lives.
The same is true for the opposite; if we live our lives in unhappiness, misery, and frustration, we call more of the emotions and situations that make us sad in the first place. A short example:
For years, I have heard the doctor’s list of side effects for a procedure, and I would make them happen, in the same order, after every single surgery. I know this sounds kind of ridiculous, but I was hearing what the doctor said could happen, and due to my depression and disbelief in goodness, my body responded as though the doctor had said to me that I should get these side effects. This is true to the point that now, I never listen to those lists — I stick my fingers in my ears and say LALALALALALALA.
We would have less success, in pinning our vibrations on specific conditions or personality traits; we need only call the Universe to bring what us good.
The trick is to call goodness and happiness in all things to us, and we will achieve or receive what we want, or in our happiness, we will decide that what we were concentrating so intently on isn’t what we wanted after all.
The different ways in which we can apply the Law of Attraction in our lives are too many ever to list. But we don’t have to. All we need do is call the peace and love and healing from the Universe — in other words, believe that they will come — and we will each find ourselves showered with blessings from the Universe around us. One last example:
Before I began to live this law in a positive way, I used to hope that my kidney disease would just go away. As a result, I set myself up for sadness when I was tested, and I saw no improvement. That sadness was just one more negative in my negative life — what good could I see in my test results, or anything else, if all I thought about, all I believed, was illness, sadness, and failure.
Since I’ve changed my focus to happiness, I can look at blood test results and know that my kidneys haven’t gotten worse in about three years, and that in itself is reason for celebration. My happiness has called more happiness, and a fresh new perspective on my health, based in this new, more positive vibration.
The Law of Attraction will work for any of us, if we decide we want a life full of joy. And it will work for any of us who cannot concentrate on anything but how sad or confused, or lost we feel. It really works; call a single happy feeling into our sad lives, and our new, more positive lives will begin.
