Behold, the writer’s aching back;
Lumbar support is what she lacks.
Yet surely it would help her spine,
To walk each day, to train her mind.
But she just won’t get off her butt,
To stomp, to stride, to stalk, to strut.
She only needs a week, or four.
Get used to walking daily, or
Bow down to leglessness, as though
She’ll just stop standing. Heavens, no!
Of losing limbs, she will not talk
And so the writer starts to walk.
