That time — 100-Word Challenge for GrownUps

100-Word Challenge for Grown Ups

Kudos to Julia!  Her 100-Word Challenge, for young writers, had over 500 respondents to last week’s prompt!

100-Word Challenge for Grown-Ups, (100WCGU) prompt this week is

…it can’t be that time…

It can’t be that time already.  January  just happened — feels like yesterday.  And yet we’re here, halfway through October, with time marching on.  Days seem like hours, and hours pass like minutes, and the year is nearing its end.

As the thermometer drops, scarves and mittens leave the closets.  I know that winter is close; I stopped wearing sandals yesterday.  Suddenly, my inner furnace, which accompanies me all summer and autumn, goes out, and I cannot get warm, no matter how many blankets I wrap around myself.

So yes, it can be that time; always when we think it’s not.

I love to read your thoughts...
