100-Word Challenge for Grown Ups — Job interview

This is the prompt for this week’s 100 Word Challenge for GrownUps.

So, here I am, among these spindly trees.  I  came at the request of my prospective employer, and I can see why she chose this area.  This little patch of trees needs the help of a landscaper.  I will cut out the smaller trees, and mow the grass around the roots of the rest of them. If I do this well, I get the position:  gardener.   Okay.  Orange spots on the trees to go, she said; too bad I’m color-blind.

  1. 🙂 As long as you don’t fell all the trees with moss on them…
Makes me suddenly wonder whether a garden designed by a colour blind person would look different.

  2. Funny ending! I was left wondering whether the speaker really is color blind, or just intends to use his own judgment instead of blindly following somebody else’s decisions about the trees.

I love to read your thoughts...
