Another Version

I’m sure many of you know what song I mean when I name Bohemian Rhapsody, originally performed by the late master musical showman, Freddy Mercury, and Queen.  This tune was enormous on rock and roll charts, and it is still a well-loved hit today.  Many, many acts attempted to reproduce it, but most failed miserably.

Then my sister told me about the Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain.  This version of Bohemian Rhapsody is one of about 10 acts who can do it well.  Here they are, playing Bohemian Rhapsody:


The musicians obviously love playing songs, like the last, in which one would not hear one ukulele, much less an orchestra.  Here is another from a very different genre of music, played equally well and with much enthusiasm.  The Ukulele Orchestra’s version of G.Rossini’s William Tell Overture:


Finally, the Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain takes on The Who, a legendary rock band from the early 1970s..  From their rock opera, Tommy, here is a pretty accurate version of Pinball Wizard:
